Chiesa di Sant'Agata

It acquired the title of “Church of San Severo” following the suppression of the original church as a result of the enlargement of Palazzo dei Priori. It has amazingly preserved its original XIV Century architectural appearance and inside there are important frescoes by the Umbrian school (XIV Century), works by artists connected with style of Siena. The Crucifixion on the back wall, attributed to the Master of Paciano, recalls, for the affinity of the subject, the fresco by Pietro Lorenzetti in the lower Basilica of St. Francis. On the right side near the entrance there is a rare representation of the medieval “Three-faced Trinity” with three faces of Christ.
