Monastero della Beata Colomba

The Monastery of the Blessed Columba was probably founded at the end of the fifteenth century on a pre-existing settlement of tertiary Dominican, for the will of the Blessed Columba of Rieti, which had such an influence on the political events of the second '400. The monastery was completely restored in 1760. At the end of the XVIII century Paolo Brizi and Francesco Appiani decorated the interior of the church and the monastery. After the unity of Italy and the following transfer of the nuns to Porta Sant'Angelo, the building was used in 1864 for military use (currently not open).
