Monumento ad Alessandro Manzoni

The Alessandro Manzoni Monument is a bronze sculpture by Francesco Barzaghi erected in 1883. It is located in piazza San Fedele in Milan, in the place where the writer fell on January 6, 1873 while exiting the San Fedele church, hitting his head. He died after 5 months of cerebral meningitis, a complication of the trauma.
