Porta Santa Susanna

The Porta Santa Susanna, also known as Porta di Sant'Andrea or Colombata, from the nearby churches, is one of the entrance gate of Perugia. Located in Via della Sposa, it belonged to the late Medieval walls (XIII-XIV sec.), which was demolished during the 20th century. Today remain the pointed arch and the brick elevation, decorated with a beautiful griffon in pink stone. From this gate started the road that led to the lake Trasimeno and toTuscany. This door gave its name to one of the five districts of the city.
